Pray for Europe

Are you ready to minister in Europe now? You can do so through your prayers. In fact, prayer is the most powerful way to participate in ministry in Greater Europe. That’s because everyone who’s involved in this work seeks God’s blessing and guidance.

Remember the amazing statements Jesus made about prayer? Just a few days before He was crucified, He told His followers, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (Matt. 21:22).

Three days later He said, “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it” (John 14:13-14).

As a Christ-follower, you can experience the truth of these words as you pray specifically for the needs in Greater Europe. Requests for Europe

Europeans demonstrate deep-seated spiritual longings. Yet centuries of “enlightened” philosophy have deceived the spiritually hungry so they don’t consider the truths of Scripture.

The premise that one can find grace and mercy through Jesus Christ is not intellectually sound for many Europeans. These individuals often believe that people who follow Christ are religious fanatics or members of a cult. Still, Christ-followers make a difference in the lives of seekers who are able to overcome years of deceptive philosophy.

Pray for:

• honest seekers to discover Christ amid the hopelessness and despair of many confusing and contradictory assertions.

Western Europe is post-Christian. Several generations of Europeans have been denied meaningful exposure to scriptural truths.

Pray for:

• God to overcome the deception and allow people in this region to come to know Him.
• wisdom, insight, and love as Christ-followers in Greater Europe seek to make Him known.

In 24 countries of Greater Europe, less than 1% of the population follows Christ; in 11 countries, less than 0.2% follow Him.

Pray for:

• communities of Christ-followers who bring the presence of the living Christ to people around them.
• teachers and lay leaders who study at Bible institutes and take Bible-based distance-learning courses. Pray that they will apply what they learn.
• creative church ministries—including video, music, and outreach-focused courses—that help Europeans touch the lives of people around them.

Substance abuse and suicide are common among young Europeans. They are unaware of what Christianity has to offer.

Pray for:

• God to raise up a Europe-wide movement of Christ-followers who are sensitive to the needs of young people and committed to youth ministry.
• the translation of youth-ministry materials that will impact young people across Greater Europe. Also pray that Europeans will develop their own materials.
• North American youth ministers who are willing to teach and train Europeans.

Nearly 400 unreached people groups exist within Greater Europe. Many immigrants and refugees require specialized outreach.

Pray for:

• God to direct research aimed at finding the best ways to connect with immigrants.
• European and North American Christ-followers to discover creative ways to show Christ’s love to immigrants in Greater Europe.
