Passport to Prayer Portugal

Trip Dates

May 10th – May 18th, 2008

What to Expect

Join Greater Europe Mission on a spiritual journey through Lisbon, Portugal. This country, once home to explorers like Vasco de Gama, is one of great spiritual need. Rampant unemployment and depression have shaken the people’s proud heritage. Many Portuguese are steeped in religious tradition and don’t personally know the God they claim to worship. Yet Jesus dearly loves them.

This Passport to Prayer will allow you to extend Christ’s love to the people of Lisbon through daily prayer walks and ministry trips. You’ll spend mornings learning the history and culture of Portugal and interacting with national evangelical leaders. In the afternoons you’ll visit strategic locations such as Christo Rei (the twin statue of Christ the King in Rio de Janeiro), Fátima, and a Gypsy camp.

Prayer journeys are a vital precursor to God’s work. Your involvement and ongoing prayers for the Portuguese will open key doors of ministry in the future.
