Short-term computer outreach leads to Kingdom results
By: Jim Budlong

Nicolai
Nicolai is a product of communism, atheism, and old Ukraine/Russia. At 73 years old, he decided to take a computer course that a local church was offering.
I was part of the short-term from North America that taught the class, and the first day we presented an object lesson on creation. "How many times can puzzle pieces be dumped on the table before it will come out completed?" we asked. I read a few verses from Genesis 1 on how God created our earth.
During a break I asked Nicolai what his view on creation was. "We all know we came into being out of chaos," he replied.
Nicolai has mild Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and has difficulties with some simple motions, and he seemed touched when I helped him put on his coat each day after class. He was also touched when he heard a testimony from Mark, one of the team members, who suffers from MS.
At the end of the week we had a church service that was also a graduation for the students. Nicolai received a diploma and a Bible as a gift from our team and the local church. The pastor and church members plan to keep in touch with him. Nicolai has much time on his hands; pray that he will use it to read his new Bible and eventually follow Christ.
