God is at work in the heart of Europea fact that has become more evident in the past few decades. Many Austrians are searching for hope and meaning, and more people are open to hearing about Christ than before. Gospel seeds that were planted in the '60s and '70s have taken root, and 0.50 percent of the population follows Christ. Evangelical churches are also springing up. This is a key time for the believing community to mature. It is time for Austrian Christians to find their voice as they seek to impact their country and the world for Christ.
Because young people in Austria are increasingly open to spiritual things, opportunities abound for youth workers and evangelists who have a heart to reach the next generation with the Gospel of hope. North American disciplers and mentors could make an impact among youth and adults by working alongside Austrians in established churches. Also, entrepreneurs who are willing to join a team could partner with Austrians in starting churches. New initiatives are needed to reach out to immigrants in Austria; currently more than 800,000 people have come, many of them
from Turkey and the former Yugoslavia.
